This Old Bear knife (XL model) has a 10cm blade in AISI 420 stainless steel. Its hardness is -+54/56 HRC on the Rockwell scale. The brand logo is engraved directly on the cutting surface, for added authenticity!
As this is a practical knife, the blade can be folded inside the handle, to save space and safety! The blade is secured by a hand-brushed brass ferrule: a flexible ring linking the blade to the handle.
To use it, simply turn it to unlock the blade so you can put it in the cutting position, or turn it the other way round once the blade is folded, to lock it in the handle (this opening/closing system has been patented by the manufacturer).
The 13cm handle is made of walnut. This dark wood stands up well to the test of time and has a unique grain that gives it elegance. It contrasts perfectly with the brass ferrule!
Of course, as this is a handcrafted knife, it's clear that it's a unique model that may differ slightly from the other knives in the series. This adds authenticity to the knife - every model is original!
Finally, the knife comes in a small beige cardboard box, containing the quality control certificate signed by the craftsman. A great gift!
