The famousOpinel Effilé N°10, in a luxury version made of rare wood!
Opinel's expertise has been unique since 1890, thanks to generations of traditional cutlers. The Savoy-based cutler offers authentic, high-quality knives, and continues its philosophy by unveiling a collection of sophisticated, elegant knives: Effilé.
The blade is made of modified Swedish 12C27 stainless steel (also known as Sandvik steel). The addition of chromium makes it highly resistant to corrosion. Its carbon content of 0.40% guarantees an excellent cutting edge for all your cuts! The blade's length (10cm) and Yatagan shape make it easy to pierce a variety of hard objects.
The 12cm handle is made from ebony, a rare and luxurious African wood. This wood is highly resistant to corrosion and temperature variations. The handle is buffed with a special wax applied to the cotton disc to give it a velvety feel.
The star feature of the Effilé range is its rotating ferrule: it ensures a perfect junction between the blade and the ebony handle!
The rotating ferrule is used to lock the blade. Sliding in front of the blade, it locks it in the open or closed position. So there's no risk of your knife opening in your pocket or closing during use. Optimum safety.
Opening the blade is an old-fashioned system, traditional to all Opinel knives. It's called the Nail Nick method, and involves slipping your fingernail into the notch on the blade and pulling it out of the handle: quick and easy!
This little Opinel knife comes in a small kraft box for optimum protection. You can also give it as an elegant gift to friends and family.
