The Opinel N°09 Océan Bleu knife is the ideal companion for sailors, yachtsmen and lovers of the open sea!
Designed to cope with sea spray, stubborn knots and temperamental shackles, it combines all the tools needed on board in a compact format. Its intense blue color evokes the sea horizon and makes it easy to spot on deck.
Ready to go
Specially designed for sailing and boating, this folding knife combines sturdiness, versatility and safety. Its 9cm semi-sheathed stainless steel blade offers excellent corrosion resistance, essential in salty environments. With a hardness of 57HRC, it retains a good cutting edge while remaining easy to sharpen. The serrated part bites effectively into wet or synthetic ropes.
The integrated shackle release makes it easy to open shackles, even when your fingers are numb from the offshore wind. The famous Virobloc system, secured by an anti-corrosion PVD treatment, locks the blade in both open and closed positions.
The blue handle is made of 30% fiberglass-reinforced polyamide. It is resistant to water, UV and extreme temperatures from -40°C to +80°C.
Rinse the knife with fresh water after prolonged exposure to salt, then dry thoroughly. Occasionally apply a drop of oil to the shaft and ferrule to maintain a smooth opening.
Since 1890, the Savoy-based brand has been designing simple, reliable and formidably effective knives. Recognized the world over, Opinel perpetuates emblematic French know-how by developing tools for every purpose, from cooking to adventures at sea.
