Opinel knife N°09 Ocean red

Take to the open seas with the Opinel n°09 Océan rouge knife!

This folding knife has been designed for sailors, yachtsmen and lovers of the deep blue sea. Lightweight, sturdy and smart, it has all the functions you need for quick action on board. Its red color, inspired by maritime safety equipment, is easy to spot.

An ally designed for the sea

The n°09 Océan rouge features a 9cm semi-serrated stainless steel blade. With a hardness of 57 HRC, it offers efficient cutting and headache-free sharpening. The serrated section is ideal for cutting through stubborn ropes, webbing or ends. The blade also features an integrated shackle remover, ideal for opening and closing shackles.

Opinel's signature Virobloc system secures the blade in both open and closed positions. The ferrule has a PVD anti-corrosion treatment, perfectly suited to marine environments.

The 30% fiberglass-reinforced polyamide handle is resistant to humidity, salt water and extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +80°C.

Other features of this knife include

• A hardened steel splicer integrated into the handle for untying, loosening or working with ropes without damaging them
• A rope holder for attaching the knife to a carabiner, belt or bag
• A 110dB whistle at the end of the handle to be heard up to around 300m in open areas

Easy maintenance

Rinse the knife with clean water after a sea outing to remove salt deposits. Dry thoroughly before storing. Occasional sharpening and a drop of oil on the ferrule are all that's needed to keep it at its best.
