The story of the Native range first began in 1997, when Spyderco designed the Native series to meet the needs of fans who demanded a folding knife combining performance, elegance and ergonomics. For this version of the Native 5, Spyderco has chosen CPM S30V steel for the blade. CPM S30V is a martensitic steel with a high chromium content and added vanadium to contribute to abrasion and corrosion resistance.
In addition to its high-quality blade, you also benefit from a pleasantly stable handle designed in torsion-resistant glass-fiber-reinforced nylon. This specimen features a non-slip texture for optimum grip during use.
Its blade is secured by a rock-solid Back-Lock to hold it in the open position when cutting hard. The blade can also be opened with one hand via a hole in the back of the blade. This system is licensed from Spdyerco and goes by the name of SpyderHole (or Thumbhole).
Native 5 is easily stored in the pocket thanks to a reversible clip for left/right or up/down tilting.
For your next outing in the woods, take this Native 5 pocket knife with you!
