Alessi's Ovale 24-cutlery set is both rustic and singular. Its design is the work of brothers Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec, who were looking for a form of delicacy for their Ovale collection.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are two brothers who are part of the new wave of French designers on the rise. Their design can be summed up as a quest for simplicity and the purification of objects. They are greatly influenced by the great English designer Jasper Morrison, who describes their talent as "thoughtful and disciplined, intelligent and poetic". Alessi and a number of other major publishers are increasingly calling on the services of the Bouroullec brothers to design elegant, minimalist collections. Recognized for their talent, they were named Designers of the Year at the 2002 Salon du Meuble and Designers of the Year at Maison et Objet Now!

This menagère is part of the Ovale collection, the first collaboration between the Bouroullec brothers and Alessi. The elements of the menagère are made of 18/10 stainless steel. The alloy is reputed to be very robust, corrosion-resistant and durable. Their sleek design makes them easy to use both for everyday use and entertaining. Balanced, the cutlery is pleasant to hold.
