This Taio pizza cutter is both functional and stylish, a must-have in Italian cuisine. Its pouch-inspired shape is reminiscent of the case in which the roulette wheel is traditionally stored.
The roulette was designed by Valerio Sommella, a young Italian designer specializing in industrial design. His vision is that each project is an opportunity to question the language of objects through technological, material and formal research. Sommella's work is widely recognized, and he regularly collaborates with major Italian and international companies, whether designing electronics for the general public, or furniture for professionals.
Taio is a pizza wheel with a sinuous yet flexible shape. Sommella has transcribed the suppleness of certain fabrics with steel, giving it an elegant look. This lends a great deal of cachet to an everyday cutting utensil that's sometimes off-putting because it's considered dangerous. With its glossy finish, this pizza cutter is an elegant accessory to place on your table.
The casing is made of 18/10 stainless steel to ensure long-lasting strength and resistance to corrosion. The rounded, razor-sharp blade is made of AISI 420 steel. The blade is also resistant to corrosion and shock, and is perfectly suited to food contact.
If you're looking for the right compromise between design, efficiency and sturdiness, Taio is the ideal concentrate.
