The Bugout was made for the modern outdoor adventurer. The series incorporates the lightest, highest-performance materials in an ultra-slim yet ergonomic package. In response to customer feedback, Benchmade has reduced the size of the classic Bugout to create the Mini Bugout 533. This version retains the same hardware configurations as its predecessor, but with a few differences in terms of dimensions and weight: it's super-light and small enough to be stored in a tin can, but big enough for adventure; much to the delight of fans. For those who have been asking for a less bulky, more transportable version of the model, the mini Bugout 533BK-1 is definitely the answer they've been looking for. Slightly smaller but still excellent as an EDC pocket knife, it's perfect for preparing a meal, gathering wood shavings for a fire or even simply opening a parcel.
The CPM-S30V stainless steel blade is 58-60HRC in hardness. This blade is sharp enough to peel an apple. CPM-S30V steel is one of the few types of steel designed exclusively for knife making. This metal alloy is renowned for its excellent edge retention and ease of sharpening. And the blade's black Cerakote finish enhances its resistance to corrosion.
In contrast, the handle is made of grivory, a lightweight polymer that is remarkably strong for its weight. Its non-slip surface enhances grip during use.
The Benchmade Mini Bugout 533BK-1 pocket knife is easily opened by means of thethumb stud on the blade. The open position is then locked by the sturdy, ambidextrous and gentle Axis Lock mechanism. Normally, this system incorporates a steel latch, but to save weight, Benchmade has opted for a lighter titanium variant.
The knife also features a slightly shorter pocket clip than most models. Indeed, less steel means fewer grams.
The Mini Bugout is definitely the best choice for modern-day adventurers in search of the best kit!
