Store your Zuiun chef' s knife safely with the Kanetsugu Saya blade guard!

Kanetsugu has specially designed this blade guard to perfectly fit the blade of the Zuiun kiritsuke chef's knife. The shape and size of the sheath fit the 21cm blade of this knife perfectly, preventing it from moving or becoming damaged.

The blade guard is made from magnolia wood, a precious wood widely used in Japan since the Heian period to design sword scabbards. Magnolia is highly resistant to humidity, yet soft enough not to scratch the most delicate blades. Lightweight, magnolia is ideal for protecting your knife.

The wood is coated with a protective lacquer that prolongs its life. With its tinted appearance and black color, the blade guard lends elegance to the knife, while recalling the damascus steel of its blade. Traditional Japanese characters are also pyrographed into the sheath, giving it a distinctive look.

A small red lace pin is included with the blade guard. It holds the blade securely in the sheath, preventing it from moving. So there's no risk of injury when handling the knife.
