Description
Are you a fan of handicrafts? Use maekake to cook!
Straight from the Land of the Rising Sun, maekake is a traditional Japanese apronwith a 500-year history, dating back to the Mumorachi era.
Japanese brand Anyhting Co continues to handcraft this apron using 100-year-old looms!
Measuring 67 x 47 cm, this kitchen apron is made from 100% quality cotton (including the fringe), and its atypical 260cm-long red-orange-and-white belt fits waists up to 95cm. So it fits both men and women.
This kitchen apron is indigo blue and features the Daruma motif. The Daruma is an integral part of Japanese history: it's a papier-mâché figurine in the shape of a Buddhist monk. It brings luck and prosperity!
Tied at the waist and tight around the hips, this apron not only protects you from dirt, but also enables you to cook in complete safety, as it acts as a strength belt.
This handmade apron should be cared for with a few precautions: do not use bleach or fabric softener, do not tumble dry, do not wash in lukewarm water, wash separately from whites as the dye may transfer to other fabrics. Please note that it may also shrink slightly after washing due to the nature of the fabric.
