The Maekake is a traditional piece straight from Japan. Used for over 500 years in the Land of the Rising Sun, the Japanese brand Anything Co continues to make it by hand on manual looms, applying know-how dating back 100 years!
Measuring 67 x 47 cm, this kitchen apron is made entirely from high-quality cotton in the traditional navy-blue color. The Maekake comes with a long 260cm orange-red belt suitable for women and men with waists up to 95cm.
Its plain navy blue hue is ideal for all cooks looking for a traditional, elegant apron that provides perfect protection for their clothes.
The apron is easy to fasten thanks to the long belt, which simply ties around the waist and tightly around the hips. The apron protects you from splashes, while taking care of your lumbar vertebrae: the apron doesn't weigh you down, so your back doesn't ache.
As the Maekake is a handmade piece, we recommend you follow these simple care guidelines:
- do not use bleach or fabric softener;
- do not tumble-dry;
- do not wash the apron in lukewarm water;
- wash the apron separately from white, as it may bleed.
It's also important to note that, due to the nature of its fabric, the apron may shrink a little after washing.
