Description

Opinel knives have been renowned for their expertise since 1890, and represent the perfect image of traditional pocket knives: practical, foldable, sharp and, above all, Made in France!

The Opinel n°8 pocket knife will become your faithful ally for your daily outdoor outings!

Its 8.5cm blade has been designed for strength and resistance: Sandvik alloy, a top-of-the-range stainless steel, protects the blade from corrosion and temperature variations. It has a carbon content of 0.40%, providing a highly satisfactory cutting edge without being susceptible to corrosion. The shape of the blade offers a sharp point for easy piercing of various objects, such as belts.

The 11cm handle is made of olive wood, a noble, hard and very compact material. The handle is thus resistant to all external aggressions. The wood is also rot-proof, so your knife will last a very long time! The light color of the wood and the filaments offer a purely authentic design!

The ferrule is the key element of Opinel knives: it joins the blade to the handle. The ferrule rotates, meaning that a new steel ring has been added to the one holding the handle and blade together. The rotating ferrule locks the blade securely in place when folded or unfolded.

This Opinel features a Nail Nick opening: simply slide your fingernail into the notch on the blade to pull it out of the handle (the ferrule must be open) and you're done!

The Opinel n°8 VRI is sure to liven up your excursions or outdoor activities with friends and family!

What's the most beautiful wood used by Opinel?

It's a matter of taste, of course, but I'm still captivated by this Opinel, which has such extraordinary marbling.

Opinel is a renowned French brand, and its knives are truly top-notch. The olive wood handle is very pleasant (silky touch). I'm a fan of quality woods, so I'm happy with this knife and recommend it.

As pleasant to use as ever, with the added pleasure of olive wood.

I already had a smaller one, but I wanted to try a larger one with an olive wood handle, much prettier than beech wood. However, I completely removed the varnish (steel wool ooo) and knocked down the edges to run it through olive oil heated in a bain-marie. The result is magnificent, with a beautiful handle that's soft to the touch.
