Choose the Agnelli oval cast-iron casserole for your simmered dishes!
Agnelli is a family business founded in 1907 in Bergamo , northern Italy. The brand specializes in cookware for catering professionals, but its products are also suitable for home use.
The cocotte is available in 2 sizes to suit your needs:
- 25 x 20 x 10 cm: capacity: 3.3L - 4 people
- 29 x 22 x 14 cm: capacity: 4.8L - 6 people
This casserole is made of enamelled cast iron. Cast iron transfers heat 4 times more slowly than aluminum, for example, making it ideal for slow cooking such as simmering. It is between 2 and 4mm thick, so heat is quickly and evenly distributed throughout the cocotte.
Cast iron is also 100% recyclable, so there's no risk to your health or the environment. Your mini cocotte is a high-quality, high-performance cooking utensil that will be with you in the kitchen for a very long time.
The cocotte comes with a water reserve lid. This allows you to keep your food constantly moist thanks to the condensation that forms in the cocotte: the food cooks progressively without losing its liquids and thus retains all its softness.
A stainless steel knob in the center of the lid makes it easy to open the cocotte. The cocotte also features 2 side handles for easy handling of your dish. However, be sure to use potholders to avoid any risk of burns when moving your cocotte (cast iron is a very hot material!).
To be perfectly versatile, your cocotte is compatible with all burners: gas, electric, vitroceramic and induction. It's important to note that cast-iron cocottes don't need to be heated to full power. You can also put your cocotte in the oven, perfect for making homemade bread! To avoid damaging your cocotte and preserve it over time, we recommend that you use synthetic or wooden utensils inside your cocotte.
This cocotte comes in a highly original shimmering orange hue! It's a refreshing change from the traditional red or black cocottes you've come to expect, bringing a touch of pizzazz to your kitchen and table! We recommend washing your cocotte by hand with a non-abrasive sponge and wiping with a soft cloth.
