At 42.52g and with a 7.16cm blade, the Mini Bugout is definitely the model fans of the series have been waiting for. In response to strong customer demand, Benchmade has reduced the size of the classic Bugout to make it easier to handle. This version features the same hardware configurations, but with some differences in terms of dimensions. The Benchmade Mini Bugout 533BK-2 knife has a CF-Elite® handle, instead of grivory. This is a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer. A rock-solid material originally used in the automotive and aerospace industries. CF-Elite® is lighter and 50% stronger than grivory.
The Mini Bugout 's blade is made of CPM-S30V stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60HRC. Thanks to its very fine wire, it can easily peel an apple. CPM-S30V is highly appreciated in the outdoor sector, as this metal alloy retains its edge over time and remains easy to sharpen. The blade benefits from a black cerakote finish, which considerably enhances its resistance to corrosion.
The Benchmade 533BK-2 features a slightly shorter pocket clip than most models. Less steel means less weight. Of course, you can arrange the clip from side to side, so the knife is suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users. The handle also features a lanyard hole for easy carrying.
The knife opens smoothly and easily by pulling thethumb stud on the blade. A sturdy Axis Lock then secures the working position. Simply pull the small knob on the axis downwards to unlock the knife.
