Artelegno Grand Prix S empty knife block for 10 kitchen knives

Artelegno is an Italian manufacturer, in business since 1960. Two generations of Fazzini are at the helm, and the factory is located in the heart of nature, in a small mountain village in Lombardy. Artelegno blocks are made by skilled craftsmen, with the idea of bringing life and beauty to the product (as opposed to an assembly-line process). Each block undergoes numerous shaping stages, and is regularly inspected to guarantee impeccable finishes.

Artelegno is particularly attentive to environmental protection. That's why the materials we choose come from forests where environmental sustainability is a top priority, and why the factory complies with strict environmental standards to reduce its impact on nature. For example, it features underfloor heating divided into several sections, fed by a biomass boiler where production waste (wood or wood dust) is transformed into energy. This energy is used, for example, to power the room where the wood is dried.

This block is part of the Grand Prix range. Each piece in this range demonstrates the brand's relentless pursuit of the finest materials, while never compromising on creativity, with an Italian design appreciated the world over. These blocks allow you to keep your knives within easy reach, both functionally and visually.

Indeed, Artelegno pays particular attention to the design of these kitchen blocks. As mentioned above, Italian design enjoys a strong international reputation, and Artelegno's blocks are designed to be not only practical but also aesthetically captivating. Of course, this same design is at the service of ergonomics and ease of use. This particular block has a distinctive "S" shape.

Magnetic, it is considered "universal", meaning that you are not limited by slot size, width or length. In fact, you don't need to insert the knives into the wood: simply place them on the surface of the block and the magnet will do its job, locking the steel blades in place. In this way, the knives hold their position perfectly. This feature allows you to store all types of knives.

This block is available in two finishes: beechwood or walnut. Both types of wood have been carefully selected to guarantee long-lasting pieces. It's up to you to choose which finish suits you best, in terms of color and grain. Each wood has been specially treated to resist stains.

Finally, a water-based varnish, totally suitable for contact with food, is applied to the surface of the wood to ensure an impeccable finish.
