Artelegno is an Italian manufacturer that has been in business for over half a century. Two generations of Fazzini are at the helm, and the factory is located in the heart of nature, in a small mountain village in Lombardy.
Artelegno's empty blocks are designed by skilled craftsmen, with the idea of bringing life to the product, revealing its full beauty (as opposed to a machined, assembly-line process). Each block undergoes numerous shaping stages, and is regularly inspected to guarantee perfect finishes.
The company pays particular attention to the design of its knife blocks. We know that Made in Italy design enjoys a strong reputation throughout the world, and Artelegno blocks are designed to be not only practical but also aesthetically captivating. Of course, this same design is also at the service of ergonomics!
Another positive point is that Artelegno pays particular attention to protecting nature. This is why the materials chosen come from forests where environmental sustainability is emphasized, and the factory complies with strict environmental standards to reduce its impact on the environment. For example, it benefits from underfloor heating divided into several sections, fed by a biomass boiler where production waste (wood or wood dust) is transformed into energy. This energy is in turn used to power the room where the wood is dried.
Information on the block :
- 9-place boulder (4 panels with base)
- Dimensions : 20 x 12.5 x 26 cm
- Maximum size of blades to be affixed: 28cm
- Weight: 2.35kg
Made from carefully selected beech wood, a light-colored, durable species. It has been specially treated to resist stains.
Magnetic, it is considered "universal", meaning you are not limited by slot size, width or length. In fact, you don't need to insert the knives into the wood: simply place them on the surface of the block and the magnet will do its job, locking the steel blades in place. The knives hold their position perfectly.
Finally, a water-based varnish, totally suitable for contact with food, is applied to the surface of the wood, to ensure an impeccable finish.
More choice among Artelegno blocks!
