Artelegno Pisa empty knife block beechwood for 8 kitchen knives

Artelegno is an Italian manufacturer of wooden kitchen components. The adventure began in 1960, and now two generations of Fazzini are at the helm. The factory is located in the heart of nature, in a small mountain village in Lombardy.

Artelegno knife blocks are made by expert craftsmen, with the idea of bringing the product to life, revealing its full beauty (as opposed to a machined, assembly-line process). Each block undergoes numerous shaping stages, and is regularly inspected to guarantee impeccable finishes.

Artelegno pays careful attention to the design of these blocks. After all, design made in Italy is renowned the world over, and Artelegno blocks are designed to be not only practical but also aesthetically captivating. Of course, this same design is also at the service of ergonomics and ease of use.

Artelegno is particularly attentive to the protection of nature. This is why the materials chosen come from forests where environmental sustainability is a priority, and the factory complies with strict environmental standards to reduce its impact on the environment. For example, it benefits from underfloor heating divided into several sections, fed by a biomass boiler where production waste (wood or wood dust) is transformed into energy. This energy is in turn used to power the room where the wood is dried.

Information on the block :

Dimensions: 25 x 18 x 28 cm

Maximum size of boards to be laid: 28.5 cm

Capacity: up to 8 kitchen knives, depending on size

Weight: 2.5 kg

The block is made from carefully selected beech wood, a light-colored, durable species. It has been specially treated to resist stains.

The block's design brings character to your worktop, while adding a marked touch of originality. It keeps your knives within easy reach, both functionally and visually.

Magnetic, it's considered "universal", meaning you're not limited by slot size, width or length. In fact, you don't need to insert the knives into the wood: simply place them on each panel of the block, and the magnets do their job, locking the steel blades in place. The knives hold their position perfectly.

Finally, a water-based varnish, totally suitable for contact with food, is applied to the surface of the wood, to ensure an impeccable finish.
