Artelegno is an Italian manufacturer specializing in the design of wooden products. The adventure began in 1960, and now two generations of Fazzini are at the helm. The factory is located in the heart of nature, in a small mountain village in Lombardy, northern Italy.
Artelegno blocks are made by expert craftsmen, with the idea of bringing life to the product, revealing all its beauty (unlike a machined process that mass-produces without really taking the time to feel the raw material). Each block goes through a number of shaping stages, and is regularly inspected to guarantee impeccable finishes.
Artelegno pays great attention to the design of these blocks. After all, design made in Italy is renowned worldwide, and Artelegno kitchen blocks are designed to be not only practical but also visually captivating. Of course, this same design is at the service of ergonomics and ease of use.
What's more, Artelegno pays particular attention to protecting nature. This is why the materials chosen come from forests where environmental sustainability is a priority, and the factory complies with strict environmental standards to reduce its impact on the environment.
For example, it uses an underfloor heating system divided into several sections, fed by a biomass boiler where production waste (wood or wood dust) is transformed into energy. This energy is in turn used to power the room where the wood is dried. A great initiative!
Information on the block :
Dimensions: 23 x 23 x 25 cm
Maximum size of boards to be laid: 24.5 cm
Capacity: up to 8 kitchen knives, depending on size (to be adapted to panels)
Weight: 2.4 kg
The block is made from carefully selected beech wood, a light, visual and durable species. It has been specially treated to resist stains, making it even more practical. The design of the block adds character to your worktop, while adding a touch of marked originality! It's a great idea for keeping your knives close at hand without compromising on style.
Magnetic, it's considered "universal", meaning you're not limited by slot size, width or length. In fact, you don't need to insert the knives into the wood: simply place them on each panel of the block, and the magnets do their job, locking the steel blades in place. The knives hold their position perfectly.
Finally, a water-based varnish, totally suitable for contact with food, is applied to the surface of the wood, to ensure an impeccable finish.
