Description

A double-sided diamond whetstone

DMT is internationally recognized as a benchmark in sharpening solutions. The brand distinguishes itself by producing high-quality , long-lasting products for both hobbyists and professionals!

This DMT whetstone features a double-sided abrasive diamond steel plate for high durability and efficiency:

600 grit face: ideal for restoring functional sharpness. This is a thick grain for in-depth sharpening of your knives, especially those that have lost their edge.

1200 grit face: perfect for finer work. This grit is generally used to polish and refine the edge for a sharp, clean finish.

What's more, this whetstone comes with a non-slip base, enabling you to work efficiently on a workbench without fear of slipping.

How to use a whetstone

Avoid using oil while sharpening, preferring dry sharpening or sharpening with a small amount of water for a clean, crisp finish. You can also sharpen your knives dry.

Place the whetstone on its base. Gently lift one side of the stone to allow steel residues to drain easily. Then start sharpening your knife at an angle of 15° to 20°. Once you've found the right position, move back and forth, maintaining a constant sharpening angle. Apply slight pressure as you move forward, and release the pressure as you bring the knife back towards you. Repeat these steps on the other side of the blade.

After sharpening, rinse the diamond plate and clean it with a soft brush. Then wipe dry with a dry cloth and leave the stone to dry at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
