TheOpinel N°07 Outdoor Junior is made for adventure!
Ideal for young sportsmen and adventurers, it's ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and scouting. Available in red, blue, purple and khaki to suit every child' s taste.
The blade
The 7cm blade is made of oxidation-resistant Sandvik 12C27M steel.
Its rounded tip makes it perfectly safe for your child to use. What's more, this round tip is ideal for teaching your child to make toast.
Be sure to supervise your child when using the knife, as it is a sharp object.
The ferrule
This Opinel is equipped with the Virobloc® safety ring, which provides added security for your child: the ferrule turns and locks when the blade is either open or closed. When the blade is open, the ferrule prevents it from folding over your child's fingers, and when the blade is closed, it prevents it from opening. What's more, the ferrule makes the knife even more robust, as it acts as a junction between the blade and the handle.
The handle
The knife's handle is lightweight and of dual-material design. The main part is made of glass-fiber-filled polyamide, making it resistant to water and extreme temperatures. The second, soft-grip part is made of elastomer. It provides a good grip and comfort when using the knife. Attractive mountain and chamois motifs add an extra touch of fantasy.
A 100dB warning whistle is located in the heel of the handle. Without a bead, it works in all weathers and avoids the risk of choking. In open areas, the whistle has a range of 300m. This whistle is useful for teaching children to find their way around and to signal when necessary.
There's also a lanyard loop on the handle to teach your child how to attach the knife to his outdoor equipment with a rope or cable.
As this children's knife is water-resistant, you can clean it in the dishwasher without any problem. It comes in an attractive cardboard box, making it a great gift idea for little adventurers!
