The blade is made of Sandvik modified 12C27 stainless steel. This steel has a hardness of 57-58 HRC and a carbon content of 0.40%, giving the blade an efficient cutting edge and greater strength. The knife also resists corrosion and cuts efficiently. This is a Yatagan blade, its design inspired by a Turkish sword.
The notch on the blade allows it to be safely removed from the handle.
The Opinel handle is made of laminated birch wood of Finnish origin. It measures 11cm. Laminated birch wood is a white wood, partially stained brown, gray or red to obtain a beautiful zebra pattern. The stain used is non-harmful and environmentally friendly.
Between the handle and the blade is the brand's emblematic Virobloc® ring, which locks the blade securely in the open or closed position.
In terms of maintenance, even though your knife is resistant, clean it with a non-abrasive sponge. Then dry immediately.
