Naniwa silicon carbide abrasive powder smoothes stones and removes rust from rusty knives and tools.

Naniwa is a Japanese manufacturer of sharpening stones, diamond shotguns and other abrasive products. Naniwa is a world reference in sharpening stones. The company has inherited the tradition of its country, which has been an expert in cutlery and sharpening for centuries.

Naniwa offers a silicon carbide powder for sharpening and flattening whetstones.

This bottle contains 150g of abrasive silicon carbide powder.

How to use silicon carbide powder?

You can use it in conjunction with a levelling stone to even out your worn sharpening stones. The powder reinforces the abrasive power of the levelling stone, making it more effective.

Powder can also be used to remove rust from a tool. It is applied with water directly to the tool, rubbing in with a wooden stick. It can, however, leave marks, so polish the surface afterwards if this is the case.
