If you're looking for accessories to maintain your kitchen knives, choose this Wüsthof sharpening stone 3069720302! This stone is indispensable for perfectly sharpening the blades of your knives. A knife needs to be well cared for if it is to perform well for as long as possible!
The Wüsthof whetstone is equipped with two different grits (400/1000). These 2 sides are designed to sharpen knives efficiently. The first side has a 400 grit, which can be used to remove a damaged edge or dull edge before sharpening. The second side, with 1000 grit, is designed for regular use. In fact, it considerably maintains the cutting capacity of your knives. This "medium" grit is neither too abrasive nor too fine.
The sharpening process is simple and easy to perform. Before you start sharpening, we recommend that you soak the stone in water for about five minutes. Then, to sharpen the blade, simply place the knife on the stone and slide it in a regular motion, applying the appropriate pressure.
We recommend drying the stone at room temperature after use. It is strongly advised not to expose it to intense sunlight or place it on a radiator. Such a change in condition may lead to cracking.
It's also worth pointing out that knife sharpening can be a delicate process. Indeed, it's crucial to follow instructions and exercise caution for a safe and successful sharpening experience.
NB: there are two standards for defining grain. The European FEPA F (F) standard is rarely used, while the Japanese JIS (J) standard is used by all the major brands. This stone is graded F400 / F1000. These values are equivalent to J1000 / J3000.
