All the expertise of Chabret craftsmen in your kitchen!
This top-of-the-range chopping board in charming wood will accompany you in all your chopping tasks, efficiently and for a long time to come.
Thanks to its wide surface, it protects your kitchen and lets you work comfortably on large pieces. It also offers effective protection for your knives, providing a soft surface on which their blades won't dull. And while it proves its worth in the kitchen, it can also be used on the table as a practical and authentic presentation dish.
Since 1885, the Chabret workshops in the heart of the Loire region have been manufacturing exceptional kitchen boards and logs. Thanks to their experience and century-old know-how, they can now offer you products of rare quality and durability. Hornbeam wood, carefully selected from the forests of the Jura, has always been renowned for its excellent hardness. It is therefore the ideal resource for the manufacture of vices and cutting boards of exceptional durability.
The craftsmen at the Chabret workshops then make the most of their material using the woodworking techniqueknown as "de bout". This involves cutting the wood perpendicular to the grain. In this way, the worktop features the full width of the wood fibers. Shocks and scratches during cutting are therefore applied in the direction of the grain. As a result, the board cannot split or crumble, and will always remain smooth even after intensive use.
This careful design gives the board perfect hygiene. Manufactured to NF food hygiene standards, this professional-quality worktop will always remain smooth and healthy, while offering you a comfortable, authentic tool.
This quality has attracted the attention of some of the world's greatest chefs. Alain Ducasse equips the kitchens of his restaurants around the world with Chabret boards and logs, and the great butcher Hugo Desnoyer asked Chabret craftsmen to supply his exceptional butcher shop in the 16th arrondissement of Paris... These unique utensils were also featured in the kitchen equipment of the contestants on a well-known cooking show!
Simple and uncluttered, the design of this board makes it equally at home in an ultra-modern kitchen or a more rustic environment. This board will become a central element of your kitchen, both practical and elegant.
Care instructions :
If wood is not regularly nourished, it has a tendency to warp: as wood works, it shrinks and expands under the effect of humidity and temperature, eventually causing cracks. To avoid this, this type of high-end board needs to be maintained with mineral oil or special waxes. After each wash, dry the board with a cloth. Once dry, coat with cutting-board oil and rub with a cloth or paper towel. Ideally, oil the board until it no longer absorbs oil. We recommend oiling the board once a week.
