Among the many Claude Dozorme collections is the"Capucin de nos campagnes" series, which as its name suggests is dedicated to the best-known Pyrenean shepherd's pocket knife. This model features a flat notch mechanism with integrated spring, a system that offers undeniable ease of use since only one hand is required to unfold this knife. In fact, just press down on the pin located in the extension of the blade's heel, and you're done!
The sturdy blade is made of X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, a quality material that offers flawless cutting and optimal edge retention. The blade's hardness is 56-57 HRC, providing sufficient flexibility for quick and easy resharpening if necessary.
Capucin handles are known for their distinctive shape, which is the key to their authenticity. It's this famous curved line at corbin level that gives this model its name, in reference to the apparent hood of Capuchin monks in the Middle Ages. The material used here is Vallernia wood, so dense and solid that it's prized for both its mechanical and aesthetic qualities.
An adjustment kit is supplied with this knife to tighten the blade's axis of rotation on the handle.
