Description
Use this De Buyernon-stick steel mould to make delicious rum babas!
The savarin mold is made of non-stick steel. During baking, it reaches high temperatures that allow the juices to caramelize: your cakes are golden brown and moist. Steel is an excellent heat distributor and contributes to even baking.
This mold is non-stick thanks to a PTFE coating that protects the steel from oxidation and helps your cakes to release from the mold. However, it is advisable to grease your savarin mold before pouring the batter into it. PTFE is a perfectly healthy coating for optimal tasting.
The mold is heat-resistant up to +220°C, so it can withstand baking in a conventional oven. However, this mold must not be put in the microwave or dishwasher, and the use of sharp, metal objects is to be avoided. Clean your mold by hand with a soft sponge to avoid damaging the coating.
With this 24cm-diameter savarin mould, you can make the classic baba au rhum as well as many other crown-shaped creations such as brioche des rois!
