Mcusta designs its luxury knives in Seki, Japan. The brand employs traditional Japanese know-how and modern techniques. This combination makes it possible to offer top-of-the-range technical knives. Traditional Japanese craftsmanship is not lost, as these knives are finished by hand.
This Mcusta Tsuchi MC.161D knife is an original creation appreciated by many enthusiasts!
The 8cm blade has a core of VG10 steel, a Japanese steel containing around 1% carbon. This high carbon content gives the blade a hardness of 60 HRC, giving it a razor-sharp edge. This core is wrapped in 66 layers ofDamascus steel. Damascus is made up of several layers of softer steel, balancing hardness and flexibility. The top of the blade is hammered, giving the knife a distinctive Japanese design.
The blade has been laser-cut and hand-sharpened by an artisan cutler in Japan. The edge is razor-sharp and long-lasting, so there's no need to resharpen the blade regularly.
The black anodized aluminum handle features a cross-shaped decoration. When the knife is closed, only the hammered part of the blade is visible, forming a successful contrast with the blackness of the handle. A clip on the back of the handle allows you to carry the knife without a sheath, simply clipping it to your belt for example*!
The blade unfolds smoothly thanks to the double tumbstud (suitable for right- or left-handed use). It's a simple thumb-opening system. The liner lock locks the blade perfectly in the open position for safe use.
Give in to temptation and opt for this Mcusta Fusion Tsuchi MC.161D knife before it's gone!
