The 8cm blade features a core of Japanese stainless steel: VG10 steel. This steel contains 1% carbon, enabling the blade to reach 60HRC. Carbon is an element that contributes to the blade's hardness and cutting performance (it also prolongs the life of the cutting edge without the need for resharpening). This core is covered by damascus steel. In fact, 66 layers of hard and softer steel are superimposed, balancing hardness and flexibility and protecting the VG10 core. The top of the blade is hammered, giving the knife an aesthetically pleasing, typically Japanese design.
After being laser-cut, the blade is hand-sharpened to its maximum sharpness by an artisan knife-maker. This step ensures that the sharpness of the edge becomes formidable.
The green anodized aluminum handle is decorated with several crosses along its length. When the knife is closed, only the top of the hammered blade is visible, the design is close to perfection. The clip on the back of the handle lets you carry* your knife without the need for a sheath!
