A polishing gun is the ultimate sharpening step. By using it on your sharpened blades, you ensure a razor-sharp edge.
This FISCHER sharpening steel has been designed to finish the sharpening of your knives impeccably. Initial sharpening often leaves a morfil: small metal scraps that create asperities on the edge of the blade (bad for your cuts).
To clean the edge, a polishing gun is highly recommended. It is particularly recommended for knives used intensively, which tend to lose their edge quickly (as is the case in the professional sector).
Its fine, round bit is 25cm long. It is made of steel with a carbon content of 1%. Its hardness is 64-66 HRC. The wick is additionally coated with a layer of hard chromium to further increase its overall hardness.
The Sharpening steel also features a developed guard, to protect the fingers holding the Sharpening steel from blows from the blade.
The handle is made of red PP (a tough synthetic material known as polypropylene). It's pleasant to hold and easy to use. Last but not least, the end of the handle is fitted with a nickel-plated steel ring, for example, to hang up the Sharpening steel once you've finished using it.
