Artelegno is an Italian manufacturer that has been in business for two generations. The Fazzini family is at the helm, and the factory is located in the heart of nature, in a small mountain village in Lombardy.

Artelegno's empty blocks are designed by skilled craftsmen, with the idea of bringing the product to life, revealing its full beauty (as opposed to a machined, assembly-line process). Each block undergoes numerous shaping stages, and is regularly inspected to guarantee perfect finishes.

Italian design is renowned the world over, and Artelegno blocks are a credit to their country. They are designed to be not only practical but captivatingly beautiful pieces to dress up your kitchen.

The workshop complies with strict environmental standards, to reduce its impact on the environment. The materials chosen are sourced from forests where environmental sustainability is paramount. For example, it benefits from underfloor heating divided into several sections, fed by a biomass boiler where production waste (wood or wood dust) is transformed into energy. This energy is in turn used to power the room where the wood is dried.

Made from carefully selected beech wood, a light-colored, durable species. It has been specially treated to resist stains.

Magnetic, it's considered "universal", meaning you're not limited by slot size, width or length. In fact, all you have to do is place the slats inside the slots for the magnet to do its job and lock them in place. Finally, a water-based varnish suitable for food contact is applied to finish the wood to reveal its beauty.
