Equip yourself with a practical, versatile tool for your hikes, picnics and explorations. Choose the Opinel Baroudeur Colorama n°07 violet folding knife!
The Colorama n°7 Baroudeur pocket knife has an 8cm blade made of martensitic stainless steel. This material has been optimized by Opinel to guarantee good corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance. This grade of steel is renowned for its durability. It offers excellent sharpness and is resistant to abrasion, making it ideal for regular use, even against hard materials such as ceramics. What's more, the stainless steel used in this blade contains at least 0.40% carbon, ensuring a good cutting edge while remaining resistant to corrosion. This makes the Baroudeur n°07 knife particularly suitable for outdoor activities, where it can be exposed to a variety of environmental conditions.
The shape of the blade is inspired by the Turkish Yatagan knife, featuring a raised tip. This specific design ensures the blade's robustness and efficient sharpening.
As for the handle, it's made from varnished hornbeam wood in purple. This makes it not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional. Indeed, this material is comfortable to hold and offers a good grip. Also, this white wood with little grain is ideal for applying bright colors without distorting the wood's appearance. In addition, the varnish coating the handle offers extra protection against moisture and dirt, prolonging the knife's life and good looks. Finally, the small leather lace attached to the end of the handle allows you to hang it easily from your backpack, for example, for easy transport.
A distinctive and important feature of the Opinel Baroudeur n°07 folding knife is the Virobloc safety ring, a 1955 invention by Marcel Opinel. This ring locks the blade in the open position when in use, and in the closed position when folded. This feature adds an extra level of safety, making the knife practical and safe to carry when traveling.
