The Prosharp 6000 maxi Sharpening stone will quickly become indispensable for maintaining your knives! It is recommended for finishing the cutting edge. In fact, its extremely fine grit reveal the cutting potential of your kitchen knives, as it refines the edge and marks it so that your blade glides through food. It is effective on both European and Japanese steels (medium to high HRC, as the others cannot withstand such sharpening).
Its large dimensions (20x8x3cm) enable you to use it on a variety of knives, even the largest ones such as chef's knives, yanagiba knives... This is a plus compared to standard-sized stones.
The stone comes with several practical accessories! You get a complete sharpening set, detailed below:
- 1 large base with integrated hook to secure the stone's base when in use, and prevent it from moving. Its large surface also collects the water and filings that will result from sharpening.
- 1 stone base. This is placed on the wide base as previously mentioned. The whole thing is stable, for ease of use. What's more, the inside of the base is lined with silicone to reduce the risk of breakage during handling.
- 1 water bulb to keep your stone moist, even after soaking before use. If you see the surface starting to dry out, use the bulb to moisten it again.
- 1 levelling stone to maintain the surface of your main stone, which can become hollow with use. The small stone is passed over the surface of the main stone to level out the grit and restore its straight surface.
- 1 sharpening guide. It slides over the back of the blade (you can put a paper towel between it and the blade if you're afraid of scratching it) and enables you to maintain the right angle for sharpening the edge of your knife.
The Prosharp maxi Sharpening stone is water-based, so you need to immerse it for about 15 minutes before use. Once you've finished using it, you can let it air-dry (direct sunlight is not permitted) and then wipe it dry with a soft brush.
