Discover this Wüshtof sharpening stone 3069720303! Ideal for caring for your kitchen knives. It's practical, high-performance and affordable. What's more, it's versatile. In fact, it has two sides with different grits (1000 and 2000). This ensures a perfect finish for the blades of your kitchen knives.
Blue side 1000 grit : this can be used as an intermediate step in themaintenance of blades with high hardness. Once this intermediate step is complete, you can move on to the other side of the stone to refine the edge even further. All in all, this is the essential first step to optimal maintenance.
White side 2000 fine grain : this side is highly recommended for finishing the sharpening of kitchen knives. Its fineness reveals the true cutting capacity of the blades by refining the edge. This allows the blade to glide more easily through the food. This part is particularly recommended for hard blades, and offers optimum sharpening precision.
Soak the stone in water for approximately 10-15 minutes before sharpening. Make sure the stone is completely immersed in water. Then place the stone on a flat, non-slip surface.
Start with the 3000-grit side. Place the knife blade on the stone at an angle of approximately 15 to 20 degrees, using light pressure. Maintain a constant angle and slide the blade over the stone in a regular back-and-forth motion. Repeat this operation several times on each side of the blade.
Once you've finished sharpening the blade on the blue side, switch to the white side for a finer, smoother result. Repeat the same operation as before, using light pressure and keeping a constant angle.
When you've finished sharpening, carefully wipe the blade to remove any sharpening particles.
It's important to remember that knife sharpening can be a delicate process. It is therefore advisable to follow the sharpening stone manufacturer's instructions and exercise caution. It's also important to maintain the stone by cleaning and drying it properly after use.
NB : There are two standards for defining grain. The European FEPA F (F) standard is rarely used, and the Japanese JIS (J) standard is used by all the major brands. This stone is given for grain size F1000 / F2000 and is equivalent to J3000 / J8000.
