This 15cm all-purpose knife is very handy thanks to its medium size. It can be used to cut fruit and vegetables, but also to mince small pieces of meat (without bones).
The knife blade is made of stainless steel enriched with vanadium and molybdenum. On the one hand, vanadium increases strength and resistance to impact. On the other hand, molybdenum enhances strength and resistance to corrosion. The steel then achieves an HRC hardness of 56/58 on the Rockwell scale, enabling it to retain its sharpness for a long time, while remaining easy to sharpen when necessary.
From the very first use, you'll experience optimum cutting quality, because the blade has been sharpened on a Sharpening stone by a qualified craftsman.
Following on from the blade is a handle in an elegant, sober black color. It is made of laminated wood, a very light, easy-care material. Perfectly ergonomic, the handle offers an ideal grip and is suitable for all cooks, right- or left-handed. Finally, 2 rivets hold the steel blade to the wooden handle. The stainless steel bolster links the two and adds balance to the knife.
Shimomura TU-9000 knives are made by Shimomura Cutlery in Japan. Founded in 1874, the company initially specialized in the design of agricultural tools. Then, in 1957, it was one of the first to enter the new field of stainless steel knives. The company's know-how and high-precision processing technology enable it to produce blades suitable for both professional and private use.
We recommend washing the knife by hand under running water with a neutral soap, then wiping it with a soft cloth before storing it in a dry place. It is preferable not to apply too much pressure to the handle under water, as this could cause the wood to warp. Careful maintenance will keep your knife looking as good as new.
This knife comes in an attractive golden cardboard box: an ideal gift!
