Some blades are made from VG10 steel, a top-of-the-range Japanese alloy with an international reputation and widely used as the basis for Damascus blade knives. This steel offers excellent cutting quality and a long-lasting edge, thanks to its HRC hardness of 60 on the Rockwell scale. Stainless steel is also enriched with molybdenum and vanadium, for strong, long-lasting blades. Handles are generally made of wood, for greater strength and a more attractive design.
