Choose the efficiency of Atoma Economy #140 diamondSharpening stone to sharpen your knives!
This Atoma sharpening stone is designed with a highly abrasive diamond surface. The diamond stone removes a lot of material in a few passes, making it easy to use.
The stone's abrasive particles are arranged in small dots on a thin steel plate, preventing them from coming loose and allowing water to run off easily. These abrasive particles are electro-bonded to the plate.
It features a very coarse #140grit that is particularly well-suited to severely damaged knife blades with splinters. This very coarse grit removes a great deal of material from your knife blade to reshape its cutting edge.
The diamond plate is 1mm thick and is securely fixed to an aluminum support with double-sided adhesive tape. As a result, the stone measures 21 x 7.5 x 1.1 cm and is easy to use, either on an adaptable base or on a microfiber cloth.
Unlike other diamond stones, this one requires water during use. The Atoma diamond whetstone is then used in the same way as a traditional Sharpening stone, but without exerting too much pressure.
To fully benefit from the advantages of this stone, it is necessary to observe a break-in period. The diamond stone is fully effective after sharpening around 5 knives or chisels.
This stone also has the advantage of remaining flat over time, so it wears less quickly than a traditional stone. It can also be used as a flattening stone on a natural stone or ceramic Sharpening stone.
The Atoma stone is a top-of-the-range sharpening accessory made in Japan. It's an economical stone because it wears very slowly, and when it no longer sharpens, you don't need to buy a whole new stone. The diamond plate can be replaced by a plate with the same Atoma grit.
