Naniwa is a Japanese company that manufactures sharpening stones and accessories renowned in Japan and around the world. Professionals and amateurs alike can find a stone to suit their needs among the models of this top-of-the-range brand. Offering you the best results, Naniwa stones are available in different ranges to suit all your needs.
Naniwa whetstones ensure long-lasting performance, as they wear slowly. It's the ideal compromise between price and sharpening quality.
The Professional range by Naniwa offers a whole series of stones in a variety of grits. The stones complement each other so that you can sharpen all your knives to perfection. All you need to do is adapt the grit to the condition of your blades!
The sharpening stone has an abrasive part made of magnesium bonded with abrasive alumina. Naniwa has used a binder of its own design to agglomerate this material. It's a high-quality binder that's renowned for making your stone more resistant, especially to chipping.
It has a 600 grit recommended by Naniwa for straightening the edge of dull blades. This grit restores damaged surfaces by smoothing out roughness. Thanks to its high abrasivity, this stone ensures rapid results.
Note that the Professional stone does not require a pre-soaking phase, which saves you time. Simply moisten it before use. As soon as you've finished sharpening, brush the stone to remove all residual material, then allow it to dry completely for storage. Leave it in the open air, without placing it near a source of heat which could cause it to crack.
A compatible holder is available for use with the stone. It locks the stone in place during use so that it is perfectly stable and you can move back and forth safely.
