Naniwa' s Super Stone range includes a number of stones with different grits. The stones can be used on their own or complement each other for perfect sharpening of all your blades.
The stone shown here is extremely thin, just 1cm thick. However, its composition allows it to wear more slowly, so it lasts longer. It has a high concentration of abrasive particles for rapid blade sharpening. Naniwa uses a proprietary synthetic resin binder to agglomerate the material. The binder is renowned for its quality, making the stone more resistant, especially to chipping.
With its 1000 grit, the stone is ideal for knife blades that are in good condition but cutting less well than when first used. This medium grit restores the sharpness of blades by gently removing material.
Naniwa Super Stones are Splash & Go stones: they don't need to be pre-soaked before use. Simply moisten the surface and they're ready to use. Splash & Go stones save you time.
As soon as you've finished sharpening, brush the surface of the stone thoroughly to remove any accumulated steel residue. Then let the stone dry in the open air away from heat sources, which could cause it to crack. Finally, when the stone is perfectly dry, you can put it away.
To make the stone even easier to use, you can add a suitable support to stabilize it.
Naniwa manufactures top-of-the-range Japanese sharpening stones and accessories. The brand's products are renowned for their efficiency and durability. They are available in different ranges to suit all your needs.
The Naniwa Super Stone range is highly appreciated by professionals. In fact, it's a range more suited to sharpening experts than novices. Indeed, because of their slightly lower hardness than Professional stones, for example, you run a greater risk of "pulling" the blade into the stone and thus damaging your knife by making back-and-forth movements.
