Naniwa is a Japanese brand offering top-of-the-range whetstones and sharpening accessories. Renowned both in Japan and internationally, it offers products for professionals and amateurs alike. So everyone can find the stone that will give them the best results. Stones are available in different ranges to suit all your needs.
They are also known for their very low wear rate, ensuring long-lasting performance and an excellent return on investment.
The Naniwa Professional range includes stones with different grits that complement each other. They help you to achieve total and ideal sharpness of all your knives. All you have to do is adapt the grain of the stone to the condition of your blades!
The abrasive surface of the stone is made of magnesium bonded with abrasive alumina. Naniwa uses a self-created binder to agglomerate the material. It benefits from a recognized quality binder, which gives the stone greater resistance, particularly with regard to chipping.
The stone has a 5000 grain: this very fine grain is recommended by Naniwa as a sharpening finish for hard steels. It gives them a pronounced razor-sharp edge. This grit can also be used to maintain very hard steels that are starting to lose their razor-sharp edge. The stone's high abrasion capacity ensures rapid sharpening.
To save you even more time, this Naniwa Professional stone does not need to be immersed before use. Simply moisten it and it's ready to use. When you've finished sharpening, brush the stone well to remove any accumulated steel waste. Then let it dry in the open air, away from any source of heat that might cause it to crack. When the stone is completely dry, you can put it away.
It's also possible to fit the stone with a suitable support for safe use. The stone is locked in place, so you can move around without worrying about its stability.
