However, carbon makes steel less resistant to corrosion, and the blade can rust more easily, despite very good maintenance. This small gray PVC eraser removes rust in seconds. All you have to do is run it over the blade in question, then make back-and-forth movements, just as you would when erasing with a pencil. The eraser's abrasive capacity will polish the surface of the blade and clean up any imperfections.
Note that it is best to use it on a blade that is starting to rust, and not on steel that has been pitted for a long time (as this would mean rubbing a lot more and removing more material).
