The Naniwa Combination Stone range features double-sided sharpening stones for maximum versatility. They combine two sharpening stones in one to reduce the number of accessories needed to sharpen your knives.
Thanks to its composition, the stone wears more slowly than standard whetstones, so it lasts longer. It is highly concentrated in abrasive particles, for fast, precise sharpening of your knives. To agglomerate the composite material, Naniwa uses a binder of its own design: a synthetic resin. The quality of this binder is recognized and makes the stone more resistant, particularly to the risk of chipping.
The brick face of the stone has a fine 3000 grain. Such a grit gives a razor-sharp edge to medium-hard steels, but is also suitable as a sharpening step for high-hard steels, before moving on to a finer grit.
The yellow side of the stone has a very fine 8000 grit. This grit is perfect after the 3000 grit, as it pushes the cutting edge to a razor-sharp finish. The knife glides through food for easy cutting.
This double-sided whetstone is called Splash & Go. This means it doesn't need to be pre-soaked before use. Simply moisten the surface. It's a time-saving stone.
As soon as you've finished using the stone, be sure to brush it thoroughly to remove any steel waste accumulated during sharpening. Then let the stone dry completely in the open air, away from any source of heat. This would be too strong, and you'd run the risk of cracking the stone.
To ensure safe use, you can stabilize the stone by placing it on a suitable support.
Naniwa offers you high-quality Japanese sharpening stones renowned for their performance and longevity. They are available in different ranges, so all you have to do is choose the one best suited to your needs!
The Naniwa Combination Stone range is made up of double-sided stones from the Super Stone range. These stones are very popular with professionals, and Naniwa recommends this range to seasoned users. As the stones are a little softer than those in the Professional range, for example, it's easier for the blade to "insert" into the stone when sharpening, which would damage the knife.
All Naniwa sharpening stones are waiting for you!
