Glass Stone sharpening stone: 500 grit

Shapton 's Glass Stone range contains multiple stones with different grits. These stones complement each other to help you achieve a complete and perfect finish on the cutting edge of your blades.

This stone features an aluminum oxide abrasive section resting on a tempered glass plate. This plate ensures that the stone remains flat and won't deform despite repeated use.

Its 500 grit (29.4 micron) makes it highly effective on dull (but not chipped) knife blades requiring straightening. Being highly abrasive, this stone ensures rapid sharpening. Thanks to its thick, hard grain, the stone is also suitable for hard steels (e.g. powdered steels).

This is a Splash & Go stone. This means it doesn't need to be pre-soaked, unlike conventional whetstones. All you need to do is moisten it before use: it saves you time.

This Glass Stone by Shapton ensures very even sharpening due to the uniformity of the aluminum oxide particles. As the abrasion is ideally uniform, you can then easily continue finishing your blade with a higher-grit stone.

In addition, you can use a suitable support for safe use of the stone.
