The steel used is 135 Cr3 file steel (1.35% carbon).
Thanks to FISCHER's perfectly mastered heat treatment, a hardness of 63 to 65 HRC is guaranteed on the sharpening guns, enabling all existing steel knives to be sharpened.
The hard chromium coating on the Sharpening steels is between 8 and 10 microns thick. This coating protects against corrosion and increases surface hardness by 3 to 4 HRC on the edges.

Fischer knives come in 3 sizes:
- Standard: this type is recommended for knives that are not used very intensively. They are ideal for dull knives and worn threads. It is not suitable for daily use, as it can lead to loss of material on your knives.
- Fine: these guns perfectly restore the smooth cutting edge and mor-fil of professional blades. You can use it several times a day.
