An elegant Japanese carving knife
The Yu Kurosaki Fujin 16.5 cm SG2 turquoise handcrafted Japanese nakiri knife is a high-precision piece designed to sublimate the cutting of vegetables. Its exceptional design, inspired by the wind god "Fujin", features a distinctive hammered finish. Each blade is handcrafted by Yu Kurosaki in the heart of the Takefu Cutlery Village, a veritable bastion of ancestral Japanese cutlery. This exceptional knife combines technical performance, assertive aesthetics and authentic craftsmanship.
Its straight, wide blade makes it the perfect tool for clean, repeated cutting of even the most voluminous vegetables. It will appeal to discerning kitchen enthusiasts looking for a reliable, handcrafted Japanese knife. The movement is precise, the cutting pleasant, even over time.
A formidable SG2 blade with Fujin finish
The knife's structure is based on a typically Japanese San Maï construction, where a core of SG2 steel is sandwiched between two layers of softer stainless steel. SG2 steel is a very high-grade powder steel, with a carbon content of 1.3%, guaranteeing a hardness of 63 HRC on the Rockwell scale. This high level of hardness ensures excellent edge retention, even with regular use.
The series' signature Fujin hammered finish evokes the swirls of the wind. Not only is it visually impressive, but it also improves cutting fluidity by limiting the adherence of food to the blade surface. Combined with a flat cutting edge, the blade glides precisely through each food item. This knife combines efficiency and style.
An octagonal handle combining tradition and refinement
This Japanese knife is distinguished by its solid ebony octagonal handle. This dense, dark-toned wood is renowned for its natural strength and resistance to humidity. The traditional octagonal shape ensures a stable ambidextrous grip, suitable for both left- and right-handed users.
The ebony bolster is extended by a natural turquoise ring. Each stone is unique in color and texture, making each knife created by Kurosaki truly inimitable. This combination of noble materials brings balance, comfort and aesthetics to the whole.
