Description

Shizu Hamono knives have been made for over 50 years in the town of Seki, Japan. The manufacturer opened its doors in 1959, and perfectly combines Japanese traditions with new technologies to create its kitchen knives. The knives meet the highest standards, and provide long-lasting support for your recipes. Shizu Hamono's specialty is blade polishing, a complex process depending on the alloys used.

This expert knifemaker offers you the Shizu Hamono Yuri knife series, aesthetic, high-performance models at very attractive prices.

This 13.5cm all-purpose knife is ideal for slicing medium-sized fruit and vegetables, but can also be used for mincing small pieces of meat (without bone).

It features a 3-layer San Mai blade. This is a simplified damascus, which you can see along the cutting surface, thanks to a small wave representing the different steels. The heart of the blade is made of AUS8 Japanese stainless steel, enriched with molybdenum and vanadium, two essential elements in an alloy. For example, molybdenum enhances the knife's corrosion resistance, while vanadium increases its impact resistance.

AUS8 steel also contains 0.8% carbon and 14.5% chromium. The former has an impact on the knife's hardness (which totals 59 HRC), while the latter is essential for the knife's resistance to oxidation. The result is a high-performance, easy-to-maintain alloy. All this is topped by a layer of SUS1A-1 steel, which increases the knife's resistance to corrosion.

The handle is made of light-colored laminated wood, with unique veins on each model. Its oval shape makes it suitable for right- and left-handed use, and its polished surface is very pleasant in the hand. The knife remains lightweight, to avoid fatigue over prolonged use.

The knife is supplied in an elegant, light-colored wooden box. The brand logo is pyrographed on the inside of the lid, for even greater authenticity. You can give it as a gift to a chef, or treat yourself!

We recommend hand-cleaning and immediate drying with a soft cloth. Once washed and properly dried, the knife can be stored in its box, away from moisture.

Answer: Hello, We're sorry that the knife oxidized instantly, especially as it's AUS-8 steel (like MAC). Could you please send us photos of the marks on the blade? We remain at your entire disposal, The Couteauxduchef team
