The KnifeLeader team brings you German know-how with the Zwilling Pro range of kitchen knives! All the knives in this professional series have been designed to be as ergonomic as they are effective. They are also ideal for domestic use, thanks to their ease of handling.
This knife set contains :
- 1 10cm paring knife: a must-have for every cook. Its small, narrow, easy-to-handle blade makes it ideal for slicing or peeling small fruits and vegetables.
- 1 20cm slicing knife: the ideal knife for slicing whole hams, for example.
- 1 20cm chef's knife: the all-purpose knife for cutting meat, vegetables, herbs... It's useful in every recipe!
Their blade is made of stainless steel, in an alloy developed by Zwilling, which increases the levels of chromium and carbon. Why is this? Quite simply because carbon has an impact on the knife's hardness, while chromium increases its resistance to corrosion. These are the essential elements of good kitchen knives. In addition, the blades have been forged using Zwilling's own SIGMAFORGE process: they are designed on a single piece of steel, which avoids too many welding points, thus increasing the knives' strength and balance.
The Zwilling Pro range has a Rockwell hardness of around 56/58 HRC: not only is the cutting edge high-performance, it's also easy to maintain (a few strokes on a Sharpening steel and you're done).
Next comes FRIODUR hardening. This Zwilling-specific heat treatment consists of immersing the steel in ice to immediately lower its temperature. The aim is to further increase the steel's strength and hardness, for an impeccable finish. FRIODUR tempering also helps to perfect the cutting edge of knives, giving them a little extra flexibility when cutting.
The final sharpening is in V-Edge Profile (with a "V" shape), at 15° on both sides of each blade (cumulative 30°). The cutting edge is sharp, and rivals even some Japanese knives! In this way, food fibers are not broken, but sliced cleanly, for a respected taste.
For the handle design, Zwilling has opted for a black synthetic material, with 3 rivets securing the full-silk blades inside. Comfort is optimal for both left- and right-handed users. The slightly curved bolster forms the link between the blades and the handles. It's soft and pleasant, and gives your fingers a firm grip to prevent them from slipping on the blade.
Italian designer Matteo Thun created the look of Zwilling Pro knives. The timeless design he has succeeded in creating allows you to equip yourself in a sober way, with timeless material.
The knives in this set are hand-cleaned, and should be wiped dry after washing to avoid contact with moisture.
