The Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 range has been designed to accompany everyday use in the kitchen, offering knives that are both high-performance, well-balanced and aesthetically distinctive. Fukito knives are made in Western China, in the province of Guangdong, a region historically renowned for knife production over many decades. Each model is crafted using techniques and materials that meet the standards of the professional food industry.
The range combines technical damascus blades with ebony wood handles to deliver a precise, comfortable and durable cutting experience.
Well-balanced, high-performance VG10 damascus blades
Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 knives feature damascened blades, based on the superposition of several complementary steels. The manufacturing principle consists of forging a rigid central core, responsible for the cutting edge, then surrounding it with softer layers of steel to balance the blade and protect its core.
The core of these blades is made from VG10 steel, an alloy produced by Takefu Special Steel. It contains around 1% carbon, a key element in increasing the steel's hardness and providing excellent cutting edge retention. Hardness reaches around 60 HRC on the Rockwell scale, guaranteeing a high-performance cutting edge that lasts over time.
Around this core, 66 layers of softer stainless steel are added. They reinforce the blade's overall strength and make it more tolerant to use, without making it flexible. This superimposition forms fine, random wave patterns, visible across the entire cutting surface, which contribute strongly to the visual identity of damascus.
The blades are also hammered, giving the knife added character. This hammering is also of functional interest, as it limits the adherence of food when cutting. Last but not least, the blades feature a rough forged finish, much appreciated for its authentic, rustic look.

Elegant, ergonomic ebony handles
The handles of Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 knives are made from ebony wood, an exotic species renowned for its high density, strength and durability. This wood is highly resistant to humidity and warping, while offering excellent stability over time. Its naturally dark color is enhanced by a discreet, elegant grain.
To perfect the balance and finish, each handle is fitted with a stainless steel bolster and base. These elements are linked by two gold edgings, adding a touch of finesse and contrast. A decorative mosaic rivet is also integrated into the handle, reinforcing the solidity of the assembly and the overall aesthetic.
The hexagonal shape of the handle is designed to suit both right- and left-handed cooks. It ensures an ergonomic, stable grip, particularly appreciated during long kitchen preparation sessions.
A complete range available in boxed sets and individual models
The Fukito Ebony Damascus VG10 range is available in a variety of versions to meet different kitchen needs. It includes single models, such as chef's knives, santoku knives and all-purpose knives, as well as ready-to-use sets for consistent equipment.
The knives are presented in a protective magnetic case, practical for storage and suitable for a thoughtful gift idea. A blade cleaning cloth is also included. To preserve the qualities of the knives, we recommend washing them exclusively by hand with a non-abrasive sponge, avoiding wetting the handle. After washing, they should be wiped dry immediately and stored in a dry place. Dishwashing and prolonged soaking in the sink should be avoided to preserve the blade and handle over time.
