Discover 100 years of French know-how with Chabret cutting boards.
Founded in 1885 in Saint-Bonnet le Château (Loire), the Chabret workshops specialize in the handcrafting of exceptional wooden kitchen utensils. Today, their cutting boards combine one hundred years of know-how into exceptional tools recognized by the greatest chefs.
Carefully selected from the forests of the Jura , the hornbeam wood used for these cutting boards has always been recognized for its exceptional robustness. The boards are then manufactured using the "bois de bout" method, i.e. cut perpendicular to the wood grain. This allows the craftsmen at the Chabret workshops to get the very best out of the material. The result is a work surface with the wood grain running in the same direction as the shocks and blows it may sustain during cutting.
As a result, the cutting surface will never chip or break. It remains smooth and clean, even after intensive use. It is then encased in a solid hornbeam frame, itself reinforced by 4 stainless steel brackets for rigidity and durability.
And the reward for all the care and know-how incorporated into these logs is irreproachable quality in every respect. Robust, your cutting surface will stand the test of time. Made to NF food hygiene standards, it will always remain smooth and healthy.
The expertise and care devoted to its production have earned the Chabret workshops the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label and membership of the Ateliers d'Art de France. Alain Ducasse uses Chabret in his kitchens around the world, and Hugo Desnoyer has equipped his butcher's shop in the 16th arrondissement of Paris with Chabret products.... These products even came to light on the small screen during a famous cooking show, which supplied its contestants with Chabret cutting boards.
And while they stand out for their sturdiness, the aesthetic aspect is not to be outdone. The nobility of the wood combined with careful construction and finishing give Chabret products a timeless lustre, blending harmoniously into the most modern kitchens as well as more rustic surroundings.
