Description

The ZEN range of knives was developed by Fischer, in France, with a view to offering professional chefs a series of ultra-practical knives. Of course, everyone has their own expectations when it comes to cutting equipment, but ZEN knives are capable of meeting the main selection criteria of all chefs, seasoned or otherwise!

This paring knife is no exception to the rule, and is sure to convince you when it comes to cutting!

First of all, its 10cm blade is made of top-of-the-range Sandvik 14C28 Chrome Manganese X62CrMn14 steel. It achieves a hardness of around 60/61 HRC on the Rockwell scale, which is a very high average for a kitchen knife. This enables it to maintain optimum cutting quality for around 50% longer than conventional knives on the market.

It has also been sharpened by hand, in the purest cutlery tradition! This process ensures the blade's long-lasting, efficient cutting edge, as well as an exemplary finish.

The micarta handle is ultra-practical: made from a blend of resin and linen, it's both extremely sturdy and hygienic. It offers a light, easy grip for effortless, long-lasting use. Its stainless steel bolster and base have been specially calibrated for perfect balance.

This series of knives has been tested and approved by renowned chef Cyrille ZEN, a finalist in a famous cooking show. Whether you're a professional chef or a culinary enthusiast, you'll love these exceptional knives! What's more, their style is extremely pleasing. The slender steel blade is perfectly matched to the bluish-black micarta handle, for a timeless, designer knife.

Excellent knife. High-hardness steel with razor-sharp edge. Do not drop or it will break. Delay extended due to lack of stock....

This is the first time I've bought a knife made in France. I bought a Wüsthof a few years ago, and you shouldn't do that. There's a tendency to compare the two. The finish of a Wüsthof knife is something else. The Fisher is a good knife. The finish on the handle is good, but there's room for improvement on the blade. So I'm a little disappointed, but I don't regret my purchase in the sense that I bought French.

At last, a knife that cuts and lasts. If only I'd discovered this site sooner.
Very good cutting edge, blade a little too flexible

Good feeling with this knife. Aesthetically pleasing, a pass through the leather improves the original sharpness. However, I find the blade a little too flexible... a matter of personal taste.

A perfect addition to my collection.
Very disappointed

I took great care of this knife— no dishwasher —cleaned it by hand without harsh detergents, then dried it with a dish towel. One morning, I found the paring knife broken in two; a spot of rust at the center of the blade caused it to snap in half. I contacted customer service but have not received a response to date.

At 60+ years old, this is our first quality knife. It's very pleasant to hold, and (!) it cuts very well.
Completely Dissatisfied

Don't buy FISCHER—they won't acknowledge manufacturing defects in their knives. Mine lasted 6 months (under completely normal use, with no impacts or rough handling).
