Description
This little Kaisharpener is ingenious! It's both efficient and ergonomic, for headache-free use. It's perfect for sharpening Seki Magoroku or Wasabi Black knives (with a medium HRC, you don't want blades that are too hard or asymmetrical).
This sharpener is compatible with blades having a sharpening angle of 15°, so it is not suitable for Western knives, which generally have an angle of 20°.
Small but sturdy, it is made of black and white polymer. Its base features a suction cup system, operated by a small black lever on the top of the unit. Once engaged, this feature completely stabilizes the sharpener, for safe and rapid use.
Also, this sharpener has 2 slots, one with a grit diamond wheel, the other with a fine-grit diamond wheel. They complement each other perfectly.
To sharpen a blade properly, first run it through the coarse grit diamond wheel 4-5 times, to slightly straighten the blade edge damaged during use. Then, perform the same action on the finishing wheel to give the blade a razor-sharp edge.
